In the year 2000, the owners of Laurel Run Farm were looking for a small piece of land to build a weekend getaway place for their family in the Hocking Hills. Never doing anything simple, they stumbled upon a large untouched 200 acre tract of land. After purchasing 140 acres of it, they built a large 7000 sq. foot lodge for their family and friends to enjoy. So much for sticking to the simple plan. Over the next 14 years they spent weekends and holidays there. As their children grew up and left home for college and their careers, they used it less and less. They considered selling the estate, but due to a series of fortunate events and the introduction of a talented property management team, they kept the property and opened it up to the public to enjoy. Laurel Run Farm was born.
The goal was simple, to allow other families the ability to enjoy the lodge and grounds the same way they did. Under the direction of the management team, they added a pool and home theater. They knew the grounds had greater potential.
They were presented with repetitive requests for weddings and events. To accomplish this, they had to upgrade the property to include a place to marry and a reception area. The driving force in this addition was family. Their son was first to be married in the new Sanctuary in October of 2016. The Pavilion was used a multi-use facility for the rehearsal dinner and after wedding brunch. We hope you find it as relaxing and memorable as we have!
